Corporate Fundraising Ideas
What is Corporate Fundraising?
Corporate Fundraising is when an organisation chooses to raise money for a charity, or charities, often voted for by their employees. Fundraising at work is a great way to give back to the community, boost employee morale and generate some positive local PR for your organisation.
York Mind could not continue to operate if it wasn't for the support and generosity of local businesses. If you are interested in fundraising for us at work please get in touch, we'd love to hear about your plans and offer you our support.
There are so many great fundraising ideas that will engage your business in your charitable objectives. We have listed some of the most popular and successful ideas below, whether you are a small or large organisation, there are ways for everyone to get involved!
1) Bake Sale
Bake sales are a tried, tested and delicious way to raise money for a good cause. You could make it competitive by holding an office Bake Off or hold it around a day of significance (e.g. Valentines Day, Easter, Bonfire Night) to engage colleagues from across your organisation.
2) Get Active
Sign up for one of our Active Challenges or organise your own. Sponsored walks, runs, bike rides and swims are always popular and a fantastic way to improve your fitness and boost team morale whilst raising money for a good cause.
3) Dress Down Days
A themed dress down day is an easy and effective way to raise money. This idea works throughout the year and can be organised in line with awareness days (e.g. Mental Health Awareness Day), holidays (Ugly Christmas Jumpers, Halloween) or any other theme you choose.
4) Virtual Quiz
A virtual quiz is a great option for teams who work remotely. Put together your questions, set up some teams and ask for an entry fee or donation as part of the event.
5) Fitness Challenge
Bring out your teams competitive side and challenge your colleagues to a Plank, Press Up or Squat Competition. Charge an entry fee and provide a prize for the winner!
6) Raffle
A raffle is always a great way to engage your colleagues in fundraising, as the chance to win some exciting prizes always encourages people to take part.
7) Do something extreme
Why not do something you've always wanted to do, or conquer one of your fears? A sponsored skydive, wingwalk or bungee jump is bound to get donations rolling in!
8) Workplace Jumble Sale
Organise an office jumble sale and have people sell their unwanted items for a good cause
9) Bring your dog to work day
Donate and bring your pooch to work in support of York Mind, research has shown that dogs in the workplace can help tackle workplace stress and anxiety.
10) Penalty Jar
Work with a bunch of potty mouths? Set up an office Penalty Jar and penalise your colleagues for their bad language.
